After that I take the wheel into the garage and use a toothbrush and a liitle more Meguiars stuff and clean the hard parts. When the wheel is completely clean I use another Meguiars foam and polish (do not remember the exact name of it at the moment as I am not in my garage) the wheel which also has a protecting effect. I clean the wheels thoroughly once a year on both sides. Can be done during the off season so you still can be close to your MOG. I know it is hard work, but when not in a hurry, so what! I wear disposable rubber gloves (attractive) and take the wheels off to clean them. It's a very long job. I've waxed mine with 'Rim Wax' (Amazon) amd I'm told it helps keep them cleaner. I'm experimenting with stuff like 'Muck Off) a bicycle wheel cleaner I think, but it's really only elbow grease and time that's getting them clean. | Re: Deep cleaning of chrome wire wheels [Re: Neilda] #121595 02/02/13 04:36 PM 02/02/13 04:36 PM | Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 82 Anglesey, North Wales art Just Getting Started | Just Getting Started Joined: Sep 2008 Posts: 82 Anglesey, North Wales | I use Autoglym Custon wheel cleaner (suitable for chrome) spray it on it dissolves the brake dust and really makes it shine without much effort. Then rinse with water and dry with a hairdryer. Then wax and seal with Autoglym sealer. If its done regularly its quick and easy. Once a year I would remove the wheels to do it.
